So I woke up the other day at 7:30am. The same time I’ve been waking up everyday for the past week with the intentions of going for a run. Except there were no actions following my intentions. I’d wake up, look at the clock , look at my phone and then say, “I’m tired, I’ll run tomorrow” and go back to sleep. This went on for days. Finally, one day I woke up and decided to go for a run.
I realized that I was allowing myself to be held hostage by my laziness and simply by the word “TOMORROW”. The bottom line is, often times we become stuck in the moment and tomorrow never comes.
In this instance, I was only sacrificing a run for tomorrow but in life, I feel as if we don’t progress the way we should because we feel there is always tomorrow. But in all actuality, tomorrow isn’t promised, tomorrow is now. Make today your tomorrow. Waiting for the next day, next week, next month is simply an excuse not to excel.
Turns out me going for a run was a very fulfilling experience, it helped jump start my day and form a new habit. You never know how beneficial one simple act can be to your life. Stop waiting!! I guess, my point is to work NOW! Live in the now! Live for today! Tomorrow isn’t promised so, stop using it as an excuse to procrastinate.
